Navigating the minefield of online research
Research Conferences makes sense of what is out there and how to use it to your advantage

Date: 29 August 2008

Web 2.0 has fundamentally changed the way brands and businesses connect with their target audiences.  We now have immediate access to the thoughts, opinions and motivations of consumers and are able to interact with them in real time, on their terms and in the way they like best.

But how marketers and researchers can make the most of this new era of contact is less clearly defined.  The opportunity is there, but with new online tools and techniques emerging every week, finding those that deliver to your distinct business objectives presents huge challenges.

Research Conferences is holding its fourth Annual Online Research Conference to explore these themes.  Held at the Novotel St Pancras in London on Tuesday 16 September, the popular annual conference will focus on the latest developments in online research and how it impacts on revenue generation and changing business models. In an era of projected economic slowdown, using these insights to stay ahead of the market is an absolute must.

Chaired by Martin Oxley, Managing Director of BuzzBack, the conference has attracted speakers from across the public and private sectors. These include the BBC’s Patrick Hourihan, who will address consumer engagement in an increasingly rich and fragmented media world, Sophie Dekkers from Easyjet and Lucia Juliano from Homebase, who will join a panel to discuss what clients really want from their research agency, and Shell’s Pardeep Gow, who will look at the theme from an international perspective, examining the hopes, fears and expectations for the future of online research.

Research Conference Manager, Sophie Russell-Ross, says that the event will equip delegates with new and crucial information on an increasingly unavoidable theme: “ Our annual Online conferences have attracted a record number of delegates in the past, demonstrating the need for an event that gives marketers and researchers insight into what is out there and how to use it to their full advantage.  It is important to know the breadth of what is available, what works and what doesn’t, and what is next on the horizon in order to know how all of this will affect your own businesses. This conference is essential viewing for anyone wanting to keep pace with these very rapid developments.“

The conference will be held on Tuesday 16 September from 8.30am until 5.30pm at the Novotel St Pancras, London.  For more information or to book a place please visit  www.research-live.com/conferences or email James Coyle at james.coyle@mrs.org.uk.
