Introduction Membership Career Development Awards


Intensive Professional Development Scheme

The Intensive Professional Development (IPD) Scheme is aimed at Associate and Affiliate Members who wish to use their work experience to upgrade to Full Membership and achieve MMRS designation. It is an alternative to the traditional qualifications-based route.

It involves two elements:

  1. compiling a portfolio demonstrating at least three years' experience and examples of how this meets the twelve benchmark standards for Full Membership (PDF 28KB, PDF Help)
  2. Plus

  3. submission of one of the following:
    • A written business research project
    • A paper submitted successfully for the MRS Annual Conference, the International Journal of Market Research or a Conference or Journal of equivalent rigour and standing

Once registered, IPD candidates are allocated a Personal Development Adviser who supports them while they compile their portfolio. They are also invited to attend workshops on portfolio building and the business research project.
