MRS Network: Ethnic Research Network

Home Events Resources Register

Resources

The primary aim of the Ethnic Research Network was to gather and disseminate information on best practice in this growing area of research and offer practical support such as questions that clients should be asking agencies when commissioning research. Consequently the group has put together a number of resources.

Statistics

Finding ethnic minority research suppliers

MRS and the ERN cannot recommend suppliers, but a good starting point to identify bona fide potential suppliers is the MRS The Research Buyers’ Guide (RBG) online at www.theresearchbuyersguide.com. You can search on ‘expert areas - ethnic minorities’ to generate a list of agencies and consultants who offer ethnic research and use the bulletin board to post details of your project/enquiry.

Access to the Guide and the bulletin board is free for all, but you will need a password to access the search facility. If you are not an MRS member you can set up a password direct from the site.

To be included in the RBG, agencies must employ at least one Full Member of MRS which ensures compliance with the MRS Code of Conduct. However, ethnic research is a complex area, and to find the right supplier for your project you will need to sift further by asking the right questions and talking to others with experience of working in this area.
