The Research Network - for researchers who want to keep in touch

In any maturing industry, it becomes harder to maintain contact with other practitioners when diversification and specialisation can lead everyone off in different directions. The Research Network, formed in late 2002, aims to counteract this.

Who is it for?

The network is an association of longstanding researchers who, regardless of their age, wish to keep in touch, maintain the ethos of the original founders of the industry, and informally share their experiences both in market research and in the life beyond it.

With initial help and encouragement from the Market Research Benevolent Association (MRBA), it now has over 200 Members, recruited mainly by word-of-mouth conversations. These include many who were leaders in building the success of the industry over the decades.

What does it offer?

  • In Spring and Autumn a low-cost lunch at a prestigious venue in central London
  • In Winter and Summer a Newsletter containing news, events and contributions by the Members themselves
  • A Directory of all Members’ details, to enable them to keep alive the contacts they wish to maintain, and to help as a grapevine for anyone in need at any time, who can be referred to the MRBA.

Who can join?

Membership is open to anyone who values the market research industry, and who in their career has worked, or is still working, to contribute to its success.

How much does it cost?

A voluntary annual membership fee of £25 makes available an entirely undemanding set of benefits, along with a warm welcome.

Further information is available on their website, www.research-network.org.uk.
