Technology Network

MRS has been in discussion for some time with the Association for Survey Computing (ASC) about closer working links. The MRS and ASC have now launched a programme of quarterly social evenings, to provide a short briefing on a technology topic of interest, followed by an opportunity to socialise with friends and colleagues in the industry. These joint events are open to MRS Members, ASC Members and those who work at MRS Company Partner organisations.

Operations Network

MRS wishes to form an Operations Network if there is sufficient interest amongst its Members and Company Partners to support it. MRS Council Member, Nikki Bell, hosted a workshop in December 2006 to identify the key issues facing people working in operations, to explore how a network could help in tackling these issues and to determine the level of support for the network. Feedback from the workshop was very positive and we will be taking the network forward.
