CIM Exemption Route

MRS offers an Exemption Route to the MRS Advanced Certificate for people who have completed the Marketing & Research Information (MR&I) module of the CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing.

If you have completed the MR&I module, a little extra study can help you achieve a full qualification in market and social research practice. MR&I study modules offered by CIM-accredited centres are recognised as covering the MRS Advanced Certificate syllabus. MR&I candidates, therefore, need not complete a second course of study.

There are two components of assessment for the MRS Advanced Certificate: a 3500-word assignment and an examination. Usually, candidates must complete both components. However, if you have completed the MR&I module, you only need to complete one additional piece of assessed work.

If you completed the MR&I module by assignment, you need to take the MRS Advanced Certificate examination.
If you completed the MR&I module by examination, you need to complete the MRS Advanced Certificate Integrated Assignment.

MRS has approved a number of CIM centres to offer this exemption to their candidates who are currently studying the CIM Professional Diploma in Marketing and who have either completed the MR&I module or are currently studying for it. A list of the centres can be found by clicking the link below.

MRS also offers existing holders of the MR&I module the opportunity to register directly with MRS for the assessment for the Advanced Certificate.
