Objective

Research in Action is a 5-day course aimed at researchers with 2 years’ experience or more. The focus of the course is to enable delegates to develop more advanced research skills and a keener business/commercial awareness.

Combining expert trainers and MRS’s experience and expertise in providing quality training for research practitioners, Research in Action offers a stimulating mix of activities within a 5-day programme.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the course, delegates should be able to:

  • identify clearly how research can support decision making in a wide range of business contexts
  • demonstrate a full understanding of the underlying principles of a range of approaches to researching business problems
  • make appropriate, well-argued choices for the design and conduct of research projects for a given range of business situations
  • select the most appropriate research techniques and approaches for given research objectives and business contexts
  • understand and apply a range of approaches to the analysis and interpretation of research data
  • present findings and recommendations in ways which provide maximum support to the decision-making process
  • manage research projects effectively

Mark Kingsbury

Mark is Managing Director of Bootstrap Insights, which he founded last year.  Bootstrap is about combining creative approaches to marketing strategy development and hard hitting analytical/data modelling approaches. 

Mark has seen the world of research from many different angles – he has held a number of senior roles at Research International, over 18 years heading Client Service, Qualitative, Marketing Science and Operational teams in both London and Stockholm.

Mark has spoken a number of times at the MRS Conference and over the years has led a range of training programmes on their behalf.
